Bathroom company taps into finance provider

Davidson Webber LLP acted for Huddersfield-based bathroom products specialist, Alpha Care GB Limited, which secured a £250,000 investment from Partnership Investment Finance (PIF) to fund further expansion and growth. Keeble Hawson in Leeds acted for PIF.

Established in January 2003, AlphaCare works closely with local councils and housing associations to install bathroom equipment and products for the disabled and limited mobility markets

The investment from PIF, a £37m fund aimed at supporting growing businesses in qualifying areas of Yorkshire and the Humber, is being used to fund development of the business by expanding its product base, moving into new markets and targeting new customers.

Currently employing around a dozen people at its Milnsbridge site, AlphaCare provide a range of easily accessed shower cubicles. Future plans include expanding the newly developed wet room which provides anti-slip flooring to any size bathroom.

Richard Ord, Operations Director of AlphaCare said “We have extensive knowledge and expertise within this marketplace; this enables us to supply our customers with solutions that promote independence and dignity. PIF provided a powerful way of accessing the funds that we needed and thanks to their investment we can continue providing first class customer service to existing customers and grow the business across the North of England and Scotland. “

Mr Ord also added : “Being introduced to Neil Large from Davidson Webber at short notice, I was immediately impressed at the speed and efficiency at which the team worked. They turned round all the required business documentation within a week for the investment while remaining professional and approachable.”

Duncan Gray, Investment Manager at PIF, said “We were impressed by the quality of the management team at AlphaCare and by the high standard of customer service that they deliver. With an ageing population, we could see the potential for AlphaCare to grow as it provides a service that makes life more comfortable for people and allows them to retain their independence in their homes. AlphaCare’s strength in their market is encouraging and we look forward to working with them to build on the opportunities and ambitions that they have"

Neil Large, corporate partner at Davidson Webber LLP, commented: “Having a strong track record in dealing with corporate investment and fund raising deals, we were able to complete the deal within a week. We were delighted to work with Alpha Care, they came to us because of our experience in this sort of work, we know the investment documentation and process very well and do not mess around. The investment went very smoothly indeed”.

“With the fund-raising exercise complete, we are looking forward to continuing to work with the management team and further build on its success” he added
